Fall in Love with Mississauga!
Top 4 Fall Photography locations.
It’s that time of the year when summer is ending, and weather is starting to get cold. Like most of you, I get a bit depressed thinking that “winter is coming.” On the flip side, fall brings out some of the most gorgeous scenery that our eyes can witness. You also get a chance to take out your trendy fall jackets, scarfs, warm-up with a pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks, take lots of colorful photos and make your friends jealous #gotbetterclicksthanyou. All this more than makes up for the changing weather, wouldn’t you agree
Ontario offers one of the most breathtaking fall scenery in Canada. You can literally drive around your neighborhood and you are sure to find many parks with incredible fall colors. My list would never end if I had to list all the amazing places for fall photography. Having said that, there are a few spots in Mississauga which are my go-to places for fall photography. Some of these spots are also on my list of top wedding photography locations. You can read that article here.
Without further ado, here is my top 4 places in Mississauga for Fall Photography #fallmississauga #fallphotography #fallphotos #mississaugaparks
The Riverwood Conservancy (4300 Riverwood Park Ln, Mississauga)
Meadowvale Conservation Area (1081 Old Derry Rd, Mississauga)
Kariya Park (3620 Kariya Dr, Mississauga)
Erindale Park (1695 Dundas St W, Mississauga)
1. The Riverwood Conservancy (4300 Riverwood Park Ln, Mississauga)
This is one of my personal favorites for fall photography. Located near the Erindale Go Station on Burnhamthorpe road, this magnificent park offers everything you need from glorious views, thick trees, woods, trails, picturesque Chappell House & MacEwan Terrace Garden which make for breathtaking backdrops, an old wood wagon, nice winding road and a bridge. Nature and tranquility combined to give you everything you need. What more can you ask for?
2. Meadowvale Conservation Area (1081 Old Derry Rd, Mississauga)
Let me begin by saying this is a huge park. When you enter the park from the parking lot, there is a wide open space in front of you which is ideal for picnic and not so much for photography. You’ll be thinking ok so where do I shoot now? There are a few, not so obvious, spots which you can use for creating some lasting fall memories. How to get there? Ok so once you enter the park ask someone where the bridge is? Alternatively, head left once you enter and keep walking till you see the bridge. Beyond the bridge is a thick forest, with a boardwalk and numerous trails. Below the bridge passes the credit river. I love using the bridge, boardwalk and the area near the credit river for taking stunning photos. The best part about this park is that its never crowded. You can take nice family photos, couple shots, wedding e-shoot etc without getting creeped out.
3. Kariya Park (3620 Kariya Dr, Mississauga)
I have to be very honest. I’ve been to Kariya park many times, but I just didn’t like it. It’s small and overcrowded. During summers you may find 2-3 wedding shoots going on simultaneously. However, very recently I shot there again in summer 2018 and somehow I started liking it. Firstly, it offers everything you need for a good shoot including pond, trees, swans, a bridge, and a funky Japanese bell. Secondly, the thing I didn’t like earlier, being small, has some benefits as well. You can get in, take your photos and get out quickly. And not to forget you’ll get all the amazing fall scenery that you came for. Purpose solved.
4. Erindale Park (1695 Dundas St W, Mississauga)
As with Meadowvale Conservation, the main park is a huge open field. Not ideal for photography. But it has a bridge and beyond the bridge are thick trees. By now you probably would have figured out that I lobe bridges lol. That’s a personal choice to be honest. It also crosses over Credit River. I love photography next to rivers, bridges and trees. When these trees change color in fall you will get some stunning photos.
